Broncos trade Tebow to the Jets

The Jets General Manager confirmed a finalized trade with the Denver Broncos on Tim Tebow Wednesday night. Both teams will split the $5 million salary advance due to Tebow and the Jets will get a seventh round pick in 2012 while the Denver Broncos get a fourth and sixth round pick.

Many football fans can argue about Tebow’s foot work and style of play and that may be one of the reasons why most are not surprised that he will not be starting with the Jets but rather, he will be a backup for Mark Sanchez and will be used in the jet’s wild card package.

On Denver’s side, they acquire Peyton Manning whose ability to live up to expectation is still in question until he proves himself. Manning acknowledged during his introduction on Tuesday to the Broncos that he still has a long way to go in rehabilitating his neck due to operations that sent the Colts into panic mode and ultimately led to his dismissal.

Despite the skepticism of many, the Denver Broncos have high hope and possibly a good plan for attracting free agents who aspire to be on a winning team with the most popular free agent in the NFL. Tebow gets a sweet $96 million contract with $58 million in guarantees and of course the Broncos chose to err on the side of caution by imposing certain protections in the event that Manning’s neck does not hold up to the task at hand.

This season should be an interesting one with so many big trades and shake downs in various teams. What changes or improvement Maning and Tebow bring to their new teams will say a lot about each player’s ability to live up to expectation and how they adjust to their new environments team mates. For now, it is a waiting game for fans everywhere until the NFL season officially kicks off.

Peyton Manning Will Continue his Legacy with the Denver Broncos

At approximately noon on March 19,  2012, Peyton Manning, the four-time MVP quarterback who was recently cut from the Colts, informed the Broncos former great quarterback John Elway that he will sign with the Broncos. No contract has officially been signed, however, Manning told his agent, Tom Condon, to get a deal done so that he could join the Broncos and play at Mile High Stadium. In 2011 the Denver Broncos made the playoffs and Tim Tebow was given majority of the credit for getting the Denver Broncos into the post-season. However, adding a former Super Bowl MVP, and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, Tim Tebow will likely be pawned off to the highest bidder. The Broncos beat out the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers for the services of Peyton Manning, only several days after Manning announced he had narrowed down his choices to those two teams, and the Broncos.

A lot has been said about Manning being enamored with John Elway and having the possibility of finishing his legacy in the same city where John Elway built and finished his legacy. Due to Peyton Manning’s window of being an elite quarterback closing on him and with more great years behind him than in front, Manning has a lot to do in order to become an all-time great in the city of Denver like the man who convinced him to come. Do you think Peyton Manning can become a Denver Bronco legend without a Super Bowl, or is that something that he must bring to the city of Denver for this signing to be successful? Please let us know by sharing your thoughts with us.

Manning Meets with Broncos

As speculated in the last two days after his separation from the Colts was announced, Peyton Manning was in Colorado to meet with the Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway who is also a Super Bowl winning QB.   During this visitation which lasted about 6 hours, it is said that Manning went on tour of the complex along with the Broncos General Manager Brian Xander and coach John Fox.

Manning’s presence in Denver is welcome by some and frowned upon by those who believe the team could be built around their sensational QB Tim Tebow.  Even though Tebow still has youth and age on his side, Manning is a proven Champion with more experience and possesses great leadership qualities which explain why the Broncos management would send a plane to bring him to Denver for talks.

Other teams that Manning may be visiting in the near future include the Redskins, Arizona, Tampa, Jets, Seahawks, Dolphin, and Chiefs.  These teams are in search of a proven QB and are ready to spend in the free agent market.  Tim Tebow was sensational last year, and hopefully he can retain his starting position in the coming season.

Denver Broncos in Talks with Peyton Manning

While Tebow may be debating whether or not he would be on ABC’s Bachelor, his position as the Broncos starting QB may be at stake, due to rumors that the Broncos are interested in Manning, and may trade Tebow if they get Manning.

Coming off a season where Denver fans caught the Tebow fever, it would be safe to assume that the Broncos would build a team around their sensational quarterback Tim Tebow, but that does not seem to be the case at the moment.  Reason being that of the many teams such as the Dolphins, Redskins, Cardinals, and Dolphins that have been approaching Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos have also joined the queue to weigh their chance of bringing Manning to Denver.

Although the Broncos are expressing interest in Manning, they are not as desperate as other teams and would be fine with Tim Tebow.  It is also believed that due to stronger interests from other teams, Peyton Manning is more likely to get a better deal with another team, and most likely not the Broncos.

Brandon Lloyd Won’t Return to Denver

On Wednesday, Brandon Lloyd stated that he has no interest in returning to the Denver Broncos via Free Agency this offseason. Lloyd specifically cited the Denver Broncos style of offense as the reason. It isn’t a big surprise that Brandon Lloyd would prefer to sign with another team instead of with the Denver Broncos, who traded him to the Rams during the season. However, the thing that should worry the Broncos is his reason for wanting to go elsewhere. Was he just saying that to avoid saying that he didn’t want to return to the Broncos because they traded him, or was his answer and honest answer?

The reason we ask that question is because if that was Brandon Lloyd’s honest answer, we have many follow up questions and so should the Denver Broncos. The Broncos would be forced to worry if other players would feel the same way, specifically the top-tier skill players that all teams need to win, and the exact players the Broncos need if they want to become a Super Bowl contender. Tim Tebow provides a lot of buzz and excitement, but if players around the league don’t want to sign with Denver because of their different style, then it will be all on Tim Tebow to lead the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl, otherwise, they better start looking for another quarterback. Keep in mind, that “other quarterback” would not be the NFL bust, Brady Quinn.

Tebow Leads Broncos Past Jets

Tim Tebow led the Broncos to victory Thursday night vs. the Jets. The Broncos have new life and seem energized with Tebow at QB. They are 4-1 since Tebow took over this season as a starter. They are now at 5-5 after the 17-13 win.

The wins might not be pretty but a win is a win is a win. Tebow is just one of those relentless players who refuse to lose. You can’t give this guy a chance because if you do he will most likely take advantage of it. The Jets gave him too many chances. He scored a rushing TD late in the game to secure the win. Mark Sanchez continued to struggle. Tebow outplayed him in the end. Sanchez needs to get it together for the Jets quick.

The Jets now drop to 5-5. It is going to be tuff now for NY. Their schedule might not be the hardest but they will need to be almost perfect from here on out. They will look to bounce back Sunday when they host the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are in an even bigger landslide then the Jets. Buffalo looked like an early season sleeper pick but continue to get blown out the last few weeks. The Jets can’t let down in what will be a must win for them.
