Denver’s return game has been lacking all year. They have only averaged 18.9 yards per kick return and 7.4 yards per punt return. Omar Bolden has been below average on kick returns and Jim Leonhard has not produced a lot on his punt return opportunities. Because of this the Broncos have decided to claim Trindon Holliday off waivers. Holliday was a member of the Texans until he was waived earlier this week.
Holliday was impressive in pre-season with three touchdown returns, but he has not produced at that same level in the regular season. Being a good return man has a lot to do with the individual’s ability, but good blocking is essential. Hopefully Holliday will add a dimension to the return game that Denver has been lacking thus far.
The Broncos will be in San Diego Monday Night, playing the first place Chargers. If the Broncos can win this game, they will even their record with San Diego and take control of first place in the AFC West.
